It is now 8am and it is off to Las Vegas.

After the night we had, any kind of drink we could find with caffeine in it was a welcomed friend. Once we hit the state line everyone was getting stoked because we were gonna be able to get out of the van. Everyone pulled up to Jillians on Freemont street and began to unload equipment.

The guys in DI were able to get their stuff loaded out and then had plenty of time to play. Upstairs in the bowling alley Casey Royer of DI was playing a game of anything goes bowling. The people at Jillians were really cool about all the shenanigans they were pulling.

Meanwhile down on the main floor of Jillians, The Adicts were setting up and performing a sound check. This is a band that takes the performance they put on for the fans very seriously, getting everything dialed in so that when it is show time, everything sounds perfect. For us it is a treat to get a mini show before the main event.

With the July Vegas temperature around 100°, the kids were already lining up outside to make sure that would get in to see the show. Regardless of the heat, the Punks in Vegas are a hearty breed and do what is necessary to be part of a great show. It was fun to hang out with the people in the Vegas scene and swap stories...as well as we appreciate that one tip on the ditch to skate at. It was nearing 7pm with the doors about to open, it was time to go back inside.

We have seen The Loud Pipes play just about every time we come out to Vegas to see a show....so lucky for us. They put on such and explosive show with lead vox Tony engaging the audience at every turn in the show. This band plays quite a bit in Vegas so make sure you check them out when you hear of their shows.

DI always seems to be a big hit with the Punks in Vegas. The set opened with a song that is a long ways away from Vegas, but can be applied to where ever anyone live, "OC Life". The play quickly got moving with this seminal Orange County band. The attraction to DI seems to never die, between Casey's funny one liners and social commentary to the ripping sound that is all DI. The band is as tight as ever.

Plenty of new DI material was sampled that will be on an up coming release that will include, "Voices", "OC's Burning" and "Prison Riot" to name a few. Of course all the classics were played off all their early recordings from "Ancient Artifacts" and "Horse Bites". By now the kids were fully beat up and ready for The Adicts.

After a brief intermission that gave everyone a chance to fill their glasses back up, The Adicts made their way down the stairs to the stage. Adicts drummer Kidd got on the mic and welcomed everyone to the show as the tore into "Ode To Joy" with Dan "The Man" on violin play signature Adicts violin segments. Monkey then creeps out from the side of the stage and announced what time is it...."Viva La Revolution" time. Hell, yea!...the show was on!!!

Set list included, "Let's Go", "Tango", "Johnny Was A Soldier", "Easy Way Out", "Bad Girl", Go Genie Go", "You're All Fools", a song we have not heard in a long time "Mary Whitehouse", "Joker In The Pack", "Walk On" just to give you all a sampling of the 26 song set list. Anyone out there want to see the set list extended to say 36 songs...We Do!

As the show went on, plenty of kids made their way over the barrier and managed to dive back in the crowd to the waiting arms of their friends. The energy of this crowd was as high as expected at an Adicts show and everyone just looses their mind for an hour and 10 minutes.

Closing out the show the same way they opened it with "Viva La Revolution", gave everyone one last opportunity to expend any left over nervous energy. The set came to an end with the entire band coming to the front of the stage and taking a bow while thanking the kids for coming out and supporting The Adicts for so many years. After the show we were still feeling so good that we took our good feeling down to a casino to see "if" we could continue to stay on a roll and manage to come home with some loot from a slot machine.
Many thanks to Monkey, Pete, Dan, Kidd, Scruff and Joe for always showing us a good time and all the hospitality they have extended to the Team Goon staff.
