The weekend started off with the Team Goon crew corralling in Orange County to go out to The Showcase Theater in Corona for the opening night of DI's western states tour. On hand were our team's groms and our 3 teenage skankers. There is something really bitchen about going to hang out with our sponsor DI and slam dance the night away. |
| The thing that is really cool about The Showcase is that there is an upstairs balcony area where you can go and hang out in between bands. It is also the area where all the bands set up their merch area. DI merch girl extraordinaire Kathy just loved Chris and insisted that he hang out with her...we had to remind her that Chris was only 12. |

It was 10:30 and time for DI to come on. Steve on the drums starting the beating to the song "Rock-n-Roll" and the show was on. As Casey shouted out the words the audience shouted them back. This song has been opening up DI shows for well over a decade and is still a favorive with this generation of Punkers. |
| Continuing on with "Johnny's Got a Problem" and "Falling Out" the whole floor in front of the stage was one big pit with the people at the edge of the stage getting smashed. |
The set was slightly marred by a broken bass string which held up the show for a few minutes before it resumed. Casey used the time to interact with the crowd and give props to The Showcase which DI loves to play at. Their set came to a close with DI mainstay tune, "Richard Hung Himself". After their set the place cleared out with most people heading out to some local parties. |

We had a great time and will try to hit a few of their shows in this tour. With an early morning ahead of us, we went back to the crash pad to rest up for tomorrows skate session. |
