Today at VANS Skatepark in Orange California was the official release of the DVD version of the Dogtown movie that packed the theaters. Now skate fans everywhere can get their hands on this video to add to their video collection. Of course with a video like this being released, it would not be complete without some pool skating. Pool skating is some of the best fun a skater can have as long as you don't slam.

The event started off with some skating in the Combi Bowl with Z-Boys, Tony Alva and Paul Constantineau taking up the pool duties with Bob Biniak watching the action from the coping. These Z-Boys still have it and can grind coping when called on. Showing up to support these first generation skaters was Eric Nash who recently took and impressive 3rd in the Soul Bowl competition and former Bones Brigader, Lance Mountain. This was a fun, relaxed sess with tile burping everywhere.

After the hour long session everyone headed over to the other side of the mall complex to the Virgin Records Megastore for the DVD signing.

The line for the signing saw fans of all ages from old school to groms. We saw guys getting decks, Dogtown T-shirts and huge posters autographed. The best thing that we saw get signed was a grom who had the insole out of one of his shoes signed by each of these legends.
Hopefully that grom will go out and skate a pool with those shoes on to help him get some tiles and coping.

The DVD as well as the video cassette versions are now on the streets. The DVD is only $24.95 and the VHS is $19.95. The DVD version does contain extra stuff you will want to see like, all the deleted scenes, raw skate footage and the director and editor comments. With that said the DVD is the way to go. The DVD is available at better stores everywhere, go get it!
