| Marky Ramone and the Speed Kings |
|

OK, New Years Eve in Orange County with Punk legends Marky Ramone and DI, how much more nuts could it get. Marky Ramone and the Speed Kings get their set kickin off hard from the get go. The guitarists and bass player in the suits were a bit deceiving at first, yet this was kick ass rock and roll so you have to look beyond the initial appearance. |
| The Speed Kings are a perfect partner for DI to tour with. Their set was made up of original material and of course a good dose of Ramone's tunes. Even Casey Royer could not resist and got on stage to sing "Blitzkreg Bop". If you come out and see them when they are on the road make sure that you pick up their CD so that the gig will never end. |

With the show not far from the Fullerton, Placentia, Yorba Linda border, many of the old school heads came out to spend their New Year's Eve with DI as they did so many times back in the day. This was the 4th date of their western states tour. Like the previous shows DI was traveling in style with the motor coach that VISION Street Wear had gave the band to tour in.....after 3 shows it was still in good shape. |
| Marky Ramone took the mic to introduce DI to the stage. Strapping on guitars, bass and getting seated at the drums the show began with DI opener, "Rock-n-Roll". The set they played to welcome in the new year was like a play back of their mid 80's record, "Horse Bites, Dog Cries". The show was a complete scene with plenty of people getting out of hand inside the club and pit that was as gnarly as the ones we used to see at the Fullerton Galaxy. DI ended the night with "Richard Hung Himself" and thanking everyone for coming out to celebrate the new year with them. |
