After a month of events being held for the anniversary of Complete Control, hosted by Joe Sib at the Scene, the final night would prove to be one of the more exciting and fun nights of the month. We all decided to meet up at a friend’s house where we would all pile into one car and head over to Casey Royer’s house so he could pick up some stuff and then head on over to Indie 103.1 where Casey would be Joe Sib’s guest on Complete Control. We arrived at Casey’s house at about 7:30, just enough time for him to pick up what he needed and then grab some food at Jack in the Box. We rolled up to the speaker and started to order our meals…Casey wanted egg rolls… needless to say he didn’t get what he wanted. Anyway, we were on our way to the studio when this lady almost sideswiped us due to her lack of attention. By this time we were certain that this would prove to be one of the more interesting nights of the week.

It was 8 o’clock and we hadn’t gotten to the station. Complete Control was just starting, so we decided to listen in while we were on our way. Joe Sib announced that he had a couple of really cool guests lined up for the show, and with that he said that “Casey Royer of D.I.” was scheduled to walk in any minute. Casey was so stoked at the announcement.

We finally got to the station at about 8:15 and walked into lobby of the building with a complete D.I. and Complete Control skateboard to show Joe what would be given away at the show tonight.

Joe Sib and station engineer TK got Casey all set up and were ready to go on the air. The hour was filled with lots of great music, historical anecdotes, and hilarious antics that only Casey would pull. Casey’s portion of the show had come to an end so we thanked Joe and headed out. As we walked down the long hallway, Casey was cruising down it on the D.I. board. We split from the station and went to The Scene and had plenty to drink the whole night.

As we got there VCR was in the middle of their set. Gotta say that we have been lucky enough to see this band from Richmond Virginia 4 weeks in a row...these guys are rocking and cool guys to boot.

After grabbing a drink and then another one a band by the name of Bad Reaction was up....they were unbelievable. This is what Punk is all about! The singer Kash is right in the face of the crowd and puts on a great show, can't wait to see these guys play again.

Many drinks and bands later it was time for Channel 3 to take the stage at 12:45 am. CH3 need no hype, because if you have ever gotten see these guys live you know they are carried only by the quality of their tunes and musical talent. Of some of the tunes that they played were “Manzanar”, “Catholic Boy” and the classic “I Didn’t Know

It was now time to close what was a 4 week party celebrating Complete Control’s one year anniversary, and what better way to close it was with D.I. who opened with the classic “O.C. Life”.

Of course Casey had plenty to say on stage including a Michael Jackson joke or two. The set went on to include “Youth in Asia”, “Johnny’s Got a Problem” and ended with “Richard Hung Himself”, which during that song Chicken Head gave up on his flailing guitar at tossed it aside and finished out the song helping with the backup vocal duties.

After DI's set the greater bar area was seeing alot of activity. There we found Kimm Gardner of Channel 3 behind the bar...this is like the wolf in charge of the chickenhouse. Kimm was just mixing and handing out as many drinks till he got shut down....funny. Casey was tired so he hopped in the cargo area of the car and passed out. Of course, as we headed out, the night wouldn’t have been complete without a little police harassment with some people being pulled over and shaken down. Thankfully it wasn’t us though -we dodged the bullet yet again.
